When i go to my visual voicemail icon, and click the menu button and click Options... I get a thing to set my greeting and password.

When i go to set my password, it asks for my current password... but uh... i haven't set that password yet. If i leave it blank, it complains that its blank. If i put in the one that i can enter when i call in to voicemail, it says that's not right. What do i do to set the password?

VVM doesn't seem to be working, but i'm thinking maybe i need to set that password first.

Default trying to backup

I've been trying to backup my device apps using the FAQ section of this forum, but I keep being asked to input the device PIN for the target device (which of course there is none). So at this point I can't backup my apps before doing the upgrade. Suggestions?

Second, what is the story about DTG? or is there one?

You dont have to put in a PIN for a second device, leave it blank.
click next
then it will backup
then you move the folder
and it asking for a second device you just cancel.

Call voice mail (press and hold "1"), setup a password and your good to go with the VMM.

Am trying to do that exactly as you say, but I get a popup requiring me to input a second device pin, and the only live button is cancel. And if I hit cancel, the popup disappears and then nothing happens

on the other hand do I need to do the app backup myself? doesnt' the install do that automatically?

I udownloaded/upgraded at about 11:15am EST this morning and so far so good. Memory usage seems good, performance seems good, all my apps work, etc. It did take 3 calls to AT&T to get visual voicemail provisioned correctly though.

Not sure if this is different if you're not on Windows, but after you get that popup: Start-> Run -> type in %TEMP%->Enter or click okay->Copy the folder with your PIN number in that directory and save it somewhere you'll remember.

That's your backup. Just click Cancel on the popup you mentioned after that and you're good to go. If you ever need to restore your third party apps, you just navigate to that folder using the Browse function in App Loader in DM and load the .alx file with your PIN number.

The install went very smoothly for me... the whole update process took less than 30 minutes... I did have to call AT&T to get VVM provisioned, but that went smoothly, as well.

So far, the battery life seems good (running wifi connection most of the time), memory footprint seems a bit smaller than .282... and the device reboot time has drastically improved... with .282, reboot took as much as 6 minutes. I've rebooted .297 twice and neither time took over 2 minutes.

Seems to be a very solid OS so far.

Cant seem to upgrade. I've upgraded probably five times in the past. Everything went smoothly and no issues. This time I go through the backup and when it tries to connect to the Boot ROM, it connects and then disconnects. It tries it twice and then fails with error Unspecified error encountered [A:0x00000001]

I even tried it on a different computer and same result

I even tried wiping the device and still nothing. The only thing different this time is that I installed BBM5 the other day

Any ideas??

Similar experience here. One thing I did notice is this OS allows a few videos I created to run without crashing. Previous OS would crash anytime I tried to play them. This is good!!

Just finished upgrading. Now to call the BES Admin and get back on the server, he's gonna love this since I just upgraded last week to the previous non AT&T build, lol.

Unhappy Ummm... Where did my Messenger go?

Hello,

I received an email from my AT&T rep with instructions on how to update our Bolds. I followed the directions and must have done something wrong as it wiped my Blackberry clean. I now have OS 4.6.0.297. BES put 95% off it back for me (thank god) but Blackberry Messenger is gone! Argh! How can I get it back? Also lost my themes which isn't a big deal.

Woah!!! I did the upgrade on mine and my IMEI changed to 001220.00.123456.0. I pulled the battery and it changed back to normal.

all seems well thus far. just waiting on BES admin to call me back so I can get back on the server and get everything back up and running, then have to call AT&T and add VVM which will surely be a treat as it always is talking with their small business division.
