I don't use Evilution (heh), but your 100% best bet is using the LDIF output functionality of btool; LDIF is a standards-compliant format that can be imported into many things (Thunderbird, for example or an OpenLDAP server) and there are tons of LDIF parsers around for many programming languages (perl, ruby, php, etc.).

Ah right, i can import the address books, but theres no export as ldif in evolution :( but still is there any way of dealing with the other elements such as tasks? Hum... maybe i should make me a php remotely hosted pim with auto sync via udev calling an update app to send/receive/sync the data, or help out developing the opensync plugin which would prolly be more useful.

See the 'Sync' sticky - I would see if you could get an evolution SyncML plug-in first, and use mobical.net as your master server in the sky. I'm all about uploading my stuff to servers and letting someone else back it up, I consider my laptop disposable.

Ah but that requires a data connection. One day maybe il get around to it. Bit more on topic, anyone having issues with btool "Operation not permitted" when ran as a non root user.

Yeah -- the /dev interface doesn't have the proper permissions set to allow a non root user to access it; Chris (from barry-devel) indicated there's a hotplug script in the tarball that could be used to autoset the permissions -- it's on my list of things to look at, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Maybe you could take a look at it, see if you could beat me to the punch.

easier alternative seams to be add btool to the sudoers file and run it through sudo. Seeing as the permission patch didnt like me for some reason. Any ideas how i can use the gui on a passworded device as it doesnt gve a password prompt or anything.
