Could anyone help me convert my .bbb backup file on my Mac to a readable file to put my contact onto my new Nokia C5.
I no longer have the BlackBerry Pearl phone only the backup on my mac.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as I have wasted hours going around in circles as i'm not a tech person and am getting really frustrated because i'm sure a tech minded person could solve the problem in minutes.

Get forensic access to essential information stored in BlackBerry backups

Why would you change to a C5 though?

Rename the filename.bbb file to filename.zip
Extract the .zip

Inside there should be a .ipd file which you can open using a third-party .ipd reader, as mentioned above.

thanks guys got it sorted after lots of stress. my hubby got the c5 as a new work phone... huh and he thought he was moving to a better job he hates the new phone, think i might have to pass on my old iPhone big thanks for your suggestions

For the future, just a tip, you don't need to be tech and there might be cases in which inside the .bbb backup you may find only compressed .dat or .ipd files (as mentioned already) but if you use BlackBerry Backup Extractor - a third party app - it just recovers your data from the .bbb backup without problems. Cheers!
