Default Storing files locally for Blackberry NOL to use.

Hello,

Is it possible to save an html file on the Blackberry 7510's flash to use and have the NOL browser point to this file locally (i.e. \home.html) instead of using the cache?

I have a need to store identical html files across multiple 7510s and am trying to figure out a way to do this.

Any suggestions / pointers to proper reference would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Wouldn't it be better (and easier) to actually create a webpage... updating a bunch of BB's would be a pain, but updating one webpage would take seconds.

Or is there a specific reason you don't want to do this?

Some of the pages are going to contain java forms with embedded data as well. These will be fairly large. The idea is to try to have the browser load the static pages locally and the processed form pages remotely. This is to reduce time to loading as some of the data would take a long time.

I thought about possibly using the offline bookmarks, but someone is going to erase their bookmarks the first minute they get it.

Basically, is it even possible to load files onto the RIM to act just like a disk at all (I know the amount of memory is limited, but I would not be using it all or even a majority of the flash ram)?

I know I might be able to use a BES to manage the data. Unfortunately, I do not have this option.

The BB uses datastores... kind'a like flat-file databases (think more like spreadsheets) to store data.

There are programs out there that create something similar to a filesystem (I think e-office does something similar).

But you should be able to write a normal application that contains the embedded data and use the browser api's to access the forms from the web... I'd give you more help, but I've personally never tried it (or even considered the possibility before).

Good luck, and if ya find a way let us know.
