Default AT&T 4.2.2.166 and GPS

Please Login to Remove!

Well...I'm very disappointed. Because of all the BT stack problems I was having on my Curve, I decided to upgrade to the latest OS: 4.2.2.166.

Boy, has that caused a heap of problems:

-"old" mapquest will not longer work. GPS shows as "disconnected" (BTW, in this old version, I cannot find a menu for any BT settings. Does one exist?)

-BBMaps no longer works. When I start it, it states the application needs authorization from AT&T.

-BT stack issues still exist with Telenav and Google Maps.

Is there a way to go back to the original OS?

Thanks.

Isnt there higher OS than .164? My Curve has .170 on it from ATT, and there is a .184 (i think it is) that is also an upgrade...

RDef - Which Curve do you have (8300/8310/8320)? Look at the top of the 8300 forum - there is a 4.2.2.184 available for each of the Curves.

I was not clear....or actually RIM is not clear. They insist on providing two different numbers for an OS. Two numbers that are very similar. Makes little sense...

At the top of the 8300 is the link to the latest update (4.2.2.184) - http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...s-chinese.html

That may not solve all of the problems, but it is the latest version of the Handheld OS for the 8300. All of the code is written by RIM, and tested and released by the individual carriers.

And for future reference, as a rule we commonly refer to the "Application" version.
