Default Typing Speed

Please Login to Remove!

Im looking at getting a Storm. I am just wondering if their is a hold back or a mechanical max speed to typing on this device. I have a Curve currently and can type really fast on it. My concern with the Storm is loosing the ability to use both thumbs to type. Heres why, If I am pressing the A with my left thumb and immediately after selecting A want to select K with my right will it let the K be typed if the screen is not totally released between letters?

real keypad vs not. end of story.

however, suretype in portrait view is easier to type one handed than on the 8830 with a real keyboard

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 9530)

No, it won't. The storm has a learning curve when it comes to both keyboards. That said, I would say I can now type as fast as I could on my curve using SureType on the storm.

I should mention that i have both A Curve and a Pearl so the Suretype will come pretty easy at least as far as location and so on.

It takes some getting used to, but if you start off typing slow, over time you will be able to type just about as fast, if not as fast, as you can on your Curve. I've had mine for a few days now and can type as fast as I could on my Curve; however, the issue you mentioned with hitting two keys at once is something that I've had to make an effort not to do. You have to let the screen fully release before clicking it for the next key, but it's not something that significantly slows down your typing speed.

I was a bit curious about this myself when I picked up my Storm last week. I am coming from a Samsuch SCH-I760 and I was ridiculously fast at txting on that phone. The only downside to that phone was I could not operate the txting (comfortably or with any kind of decent speed) with one hand thanks to the 'ABC' only on the front keypad. I am finding that I am adapting to the new technology or the Storm A LOT faster than I had thought. I think I might stick with the blackberrys for a while. I like them alot.

Now if only I can get my OS upgrade to function properly . . .

On the same sheet of music as Adorkable and Punkarella.

Just as fast, if not faster, on my Storm as I was on the Curve.
