http 500: internal server error on wap site?
Please Login to Remove!
I get this error fairly frequently while browsing the wap site on my bb. Any thoughts as to why? Are any other users experiencing this problem? Is this because I'm not using MDS?
It only happens on certain posts and it's contained solely to those posts. For example, I tried after a couple of days to go back to a post that wasn't working earlier and I received the same error message on only that post. Strange...

It looks to me like its only posts that are sticky's or announcements, I will try to find a way to fix that.

Sorry about that 8)
Just so you're aware, I was having the problem on normal posts. In fact, I have never tried to access a sticky.

Try refreshing the main page, it almost sounds like your running an old version. What blackberry and browser are you running this on?
A 500 error is an error within the code, as the php software converts php to wml..

blackberry 7230 with the tzones browser and RBRO hack. Also noticed that my post "footer" just says Posted from a mobile and not Posted from my Blackberry Wireless Handheld
Is my software out of date? Maybe I'm the one running IE3!!?

Yea, I noticed that as well, thats why I asked that you refresh
Clear your cache.. you proabably have the old php files cached.

Looking good now!
What's the best way to clear the cache? I had to tell the browser to clear it on exit and then exit out and then go back in and hop on over to the forum. It evidently worked but I'm wondering if that's the best way.
In regards to my other problem, maybe it was just cached scripts that were old. . . I don't know. Thanks for the fix!

Not sure where things stand, seeing as how I get Error 500 while trying to read through this thread. In the past, it happened a lot when trying to go to \"view last message in thread\", but now that seems to work ok. I think maybe it has to do with content on the site that is not compatible with WAP browser. Perhaps some graphics element? Maybe something in one of those fancy signature blocks? Not sure, but I get it a lot...

Did you clear your cache like johnh has?
Mine seems to work fine.

I cleared the cache, and still get the error all the time. I'm really not sure what it is that causes it. Let me get this straight -- someone tried to get to a specific message, got the error, then cleared the cahce, and was able to get to that exact same message? I am stumped. I really thought it could be the emoticons that were causing the problem...

I'm still having the same problem after clearing cache as well. 500 error pops on a lot of messages here, this one it does after I get to the second thread, won't let me past.

Ok nevermind, it works now. Had to clear cache again, double checked rbro settings as in the sticky, I missed the wml and html setting.

"as in the sticky" ??? What sticky??? WML? HTML? Whoopsy, I'm missing something. Can you point me in the right direction? I am very familiar with RBRO hack, what else do I need to do?

And did this clear things up for you? I have had the RBRO hack in place for a long time, and nonetheless can't seem to get rid of the 500 error :(

I want to test something...I was just able to skip to the last message in THIS thread on the WAP site...now, Gothalyptic, post something as the last message -- I think it's your sig block that's killing me
I'll try again, and we'll see...

hmmm, could be, could be. Let me disable for a day or two and see if that clears things up on your end. If so, then it's the graphic sigs that're causing it.
edit: Disabled, just showing the text for it now. Lets see if that helps some of the problems.
