When do I stop?
Please Login to Remove!
I'm playing the game for the seventh time through without losing yet. I have 108460 points. I'm getting reeaally tired of this lol. Does anyone know what the highest score ever is? I've got 18 lives and it doesn't seem like I'm gonna lose. honestly, the second time through the game was the hardest but since then its seemed really easy. Either it actually gets easier or I 've just played the game too much for any sane person.

It seems to be easier on other blackberries like the Curve. I've tried the game on multiple BB's and the Bold seems to be the hardest because of the screen size I'm assuming.

How Do I Save My Score?
Currently I'm at 1,012,060 points with 292 lives. I'm at level 58 5/34. I can see I'd have a looooong way to go to get to the top, but my wife thinks I'm addicted to it so I have to put it away. I took the battery out once at 600,000 points and lost everything and I had to start over again. For some reason it won't save my score. When I try to send my high score it gives me an error message that says "The content you have requested is not availale. This game BrickbreakerTOUCH4.1 is not supported by high score service." Any suggestons about registering my score? How do I fix this? (..And I don't know about you guys but as far as strategy goes, I intentionally let the Flips go by. It messes me up more than anything.)

On most Blackberrys, you can't save your score until the game ends by losing all your lives. You also can't send anything but your highest saved score. There is no interim capability. So you start dumping lives when you are tired of it.
On the down side, the highest recored score I have seen is 20,000,000. However, the recoreded scores site seems to hold a given score for only 3 months, so the current high score changes frequently. Just a note to those who think they will get to the top of the list and then stay there--it apparently will not happen.

It's POINTLESS!!! I just intentionally quit playing BrickBreaker at a score of 1,020,300. After the second time through the game (when it speeds up and the board drops down quicker), there's no point in playing! You will get more than enough lives to sustain further play.
At the point I committed suicide to end the game, I had 330 lives and had beaten the game 59 times. I could have played forever because it was no longer a challenge. I saw no point in that and decided to bail out. I wanted to bail at an even 1,000,000 points, but I had just started level 12, and it was impossible to die without hitting something and wrecking my score. Then, I tried bailing at 1,010,100, but that didn't work either.
People - please don't waste your time. Once you survive the second time through the game, you've won! There's no challenge to the game beyond that, so don't waste your time!

brick breaker
I am new to this site so forgive me if this question has already been asked and answered. Of course everyone knows there is no save option on this game however, I was hoping that there is a workaround. My high score is 2,302,760 with 271 lives. Now you gamers will understand the heart attack I will have should I loose this game. Any suggestions?

Current Score is 422,370
As I have played this game for too long, I thought I would share how to master the game
I am currently on a score of 422k with 51 lives.
The skill is to get past the first Set of 34 Levels. The next step is to get past the second Set of 34 Levels where the ball speeds up on each game. After that its all down hill because the next Sets are all at the same speed and easier to play than the first set of 34 levels.
You then focus on getting more lives and avoiding the Flips and note how many lives you have at the start of each new Set.
I started Set 20 with 61 lives and then started the next Sets with 52 and 46 lives, but I was on a moving train. So next time I play I will be on a stable chair.
From what I have seen on the highest scores, I think the target to achieve is 20 million, if you have the patience.
Enjoy

There is no work around except some kind of therapy which will free us from breaking little square things that represent bricks with a moving dot. I have had several games disappear and force me to start over. The only preventive to having the game reset itself is to turn your Blackberry off once a day. This will keep the unit operating safely and hopefully not dump you into the abyss of depression by making you start over. This also works if your paddle freezes up. Just suspend the game, power off the phone and start up and continue.

Game Strategy
I'd like to propose a game strategy that differs from some stuff I've read here.
The first two rotations through the game, the goal is to accumulate LIVES, not points. You will need lives the most in trying to get past the second rotation through the game, when things speed up and it gets tricky. Trying to slide over and grab that laser power-up and risk missing the ball is a bad decision during this time. I think of this as playing good defense, or "protecting the plate". Your job is simply not to let the ball past you, even if it means you give up control of where you are trying to steer the ball. Just try to survive the second rotation through the game. Use lasers and multis to get through the levels as fast as possible, but don't risk your life doing it. Also, on the second rotation though the game - the most dangerous part of the game - the ball moves very fast from the start. It's better to try to hit the ball more vertically - it's easier to track than hitting it at sharp angles. And once the ball hits enough surfaces, it will slow down a bit. Don't die! When the ball slows down is a great opportunity to control it better. If you die then, you will start your next life with a speedy new ball and much lower blocks - not a good combination.
IF you manage to complete all levels twice, congratulations! - you've essentially beaten the game, as long as you still have a few lives left. From this point on, the game is relatively easy. You will still die, but you should get enough lives to add to your total over the long haul. Once you have 20-30 lives - that's a good enough minimum to sustain you. Eventually you will have 300 or 500 lives or whatever, but it's pointless. You will NEVER need that many lives. And since you don't get points for all those lives, it's just an ego stroke, nothing more. So, concentrate on POINTS. Get every power-up you can - YES, even flip. Don't be afraid of it, get used to it. It's not so bad. Power-ups are worth way more than breaking blocks and your point total will grow faster by getting every power-up.
Other strategy tips include only using GUN to shoot weak blocks, not "new" blocks. You get the same amount of points either way, so save the "new" blocks for a laser or just hitting with the ball to extract the most points possible from it. Then, there's obvious things like holding the ball with catch while you wait for another power-up to fall, so that you can get it.
But, again - the real challenge is completing the game twice through. After that it's pointless and amounts to masturbation.
To all those wanting to know how to save the game (and your score) - I don't think there is a way, but why do you want to save it once you complete the second rotation? You already won! The only other reason is because you want to get the all-time high score. And that's like locking yourself in a bathroom for four years and masturbating. Why would anyone want to do that?
Anyway, good luck!

To whom it may concern,
My Brickbreaker high score is 15880, and I reached level 31. I thought I wasn`t going to do any better than level 23, but I kept trying and I may finish the game this week.
Thanks very much for setting up this column.
Cheers,

Starting All Over Again...Again
I get a kick looking at some of these posts from those just starting this simple but addicting game I had almost 2 million points before my 8820 went belly up. I was issued a BB Bold and had a little over 1,500,000 points and 300 lives before it crashed (not the game the BB) and received another BB Bold and had to reset it twice so far, with the 2d time being this morning when I had to free up some memory on my device and of course, after I deleted some programs it reset and I lost my current score of 492,000 with 170 lives.
At this point, the thrill is in how long it takes me to get through the 34 levels twice after I have suffered a crash or reset, with the last time only taking me two games to reach the promised land of brickbreaker. Those who have not been playing long, take what Cefaloni1 posted to heart. Once, you get past all the levels the 2d time the game pretty much becomes an exercise in accumulating points but the real challenge is gone because you will have lives to throw away. You will find yourself doing things like grabbing the "flip" to hone your skills or the "wrap" or the "wrap and flip" to make things interesting So, this weekend I'll be looking to once again get back to the promised land and enjoy a brief time of no stress brickbreaker before something happens again
