the storms are "world edition" phones and when unlocked can be switched over to a GSM. When unlocked you can tall it to run off of a sim card like any other phone.
i've also noticed that in the settings for mine (9530) there is a list of i can choose to have GSM on or off.

I havnt found anything as of yet, although i am about to contact Horizon Wireless again to see if they have any updates. I've heard / read that the BB Storm 9500's have been unlocked meaning the codes are for the 9530's should be along shortly
Hopefully sooner than later im tired of staring at the box with my phone contained within it not being used.

according to horizon wireless site they can do now the 9530's however it is costly for those of us with Telus. I do not have enough posts to post a direct link how ever, horizon wireless can now do the 9530's on telus, bell, and verizon..

I received my Telus code form ngreen see site below. They sell and unlock all phones and specialize in BB. They answered all my questions quick not having to wait. They have live help from ngreen himself if you need. They even help with OS updates and customizing phone.
