Default multiple address books

Can I have completely separate address books on the Blackberry? How? I would also want to sync the books from different databases.

How bout you just put your contacts into categories and then filter based on category. Kind of achieving the same effect

A need to keep the contacts in the address book separate from the device's address book. Plus I need to have it sync to a separate database from the server. It looks like I'll have to write my own address book application. Does anyone know if there is one already out there that is commercially available? It would be important that there was a sync application also that could work with MS SQL on the desktop. I'm thinking I would also have to write the sync application on the desktop. Unless someone knows of a commercial application available for that also -- that could work with a third party address book and not the device address book?

Thank you in advance for any tips.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8800/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

If you need to keep contacts off the BB and you're using Outlook/Exchange then just store the ones you don't want on the BB in a separate contacts folder.

Are you needing a second address book that sync with a SQL database?
