Default Optical mouse crunching noise

Please Login to Remove!

I'm on my second Torch and both make this annoying crunching noise when I press doWn on the optical mouse. Sounds like crispy lettuce. What the heck is that, and is there any way to silence it? Ty

I believe he is referring to a physical hardware issue. I had this on either my 9700 or one of my 9800s and it seemed to settle out after a while as I recall. There is either something under the trackpad or it is a physical build issue with the components. Without voiding your warranty, I don't think you can attempt to repair it. (if one can repair it). There is usually a moisture sticker on one of the screw heads under the battery door. Most carriers will consider your warranty void if you mess with it.

Yes, this does appear to be a hardware issue. Does anyone else with a Torch experience a crunching noise w/mouse trackpad when you press down on it, or am I the only lucky one? ):
