Default SMS text takes a while to open and send

And it only does it when i'm texting my friend. If I text anyone else, it will work normally, but if I text her, it lags and takes like five or ten extra seconds to send. I tried battery pulls and everything. help me?

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 11000 Colosol)

Sounds a little strange. Are you both on different carriers?

I'm with t-mobile and she's with ATT

And no, it doesn't take a while for the message to be received, it takes long for my phone to send the message cause it "freezes" and then it sends it.

OK I deleted some of my prior texts and it solved the problem a little. It's almost back to normal but it still freezes but for way less than before.

I still can't help but wonder why only one of your contacts would be effected from this seemingly universal problem.

I have this happen to me if I text one contact excessively. It "lags" with texts only to that contact. It will send fine to other contacts without issue.

To resolve it, I highlight a text from the contact and press the Menu Key, then select Search Sender. Once the search completes, I go to the top and Press the Menu Key and select Delete Prior. Once I've done that, it is back to normal.

I noticed it was really really slow on texting when I had it set to show more texts per person. It was loading more texts when I opened a text from someone I texted often so it was laggy and slow. I set it back down to the default or lowest value and it was much snappier.

Wow, thanks for this tip. Much snappier indeed! I find it strange that the option goes all the way to 50 when I can easily notice a slowdown in changing it from 3 to 10. And 0 is instant, but I like seeing at least a few previous ones...
