My two week old BlackBerry had a bad speaker so i went down to alltel today and got a new one but before i did i back up the old one on the computer and when i got back home i restored it on to this one and now it wont read the media card any ideas

Hope you had also backed up the media card because you will need to use the device to format the media card, that is the only way to get the device to start reading the device. You can format it by going to Options|Memory and then activate the menu and then select format.

it wouldnt let me do that at first but i figured it out

You shouldn't have to reformat the media card. In all my years of using SD cards, I have never had to format/reformat one.

Try pulling the battery with the device on. Leave it out for 30 seconds or so, reinsert and let the BB reboot. Does that fix the problem?
