Default Keeps turning on/off

My phone just started going totally mental yesterday.
I turned off, and the red light was flashing, then it turned itself back on.

And now it has turned off, but when i go to put it back on, it just doesnt, either nothing happens, or the hourglass comes on, then it goes back off.
And its not that the battery is dead, it has 25% left.

It is driving me insane.

Does anyone know whats wrong?

Thank You.

Ohh, it came on, its plugged in.
The battery says its 0%....it was 25% when it went off, so im guessing that the flashy light isnt helping, is there anyway to turn that off?

I've the exact same problem. However, my battery is at 100% and I can always get to the verifying of security blah blah and then it shutsdown. Other times I can use the phone for various amounts of time. From minutes to a couple of days. I've upgraded from OS v4.2 to the latest OS v4.5 something. This didn't help my problem.
If an answer could be provided to this most annoying problem I would be well chuffed.
