Default Text Message Folder(s)

Please Login to Remove!

I just got the BlackBerry curve -- and I'm just wondering if it was possible to organize your text messages? Or does it all go into one default folder (both sent and received) because I'm having a hard time scrolling through all of them.

Welcome to the forums.

You can separate your text messages from your email by clicking on the Message icon, then press Menu button and go into Options -> General Settings -> SMS And Email Inboxes = Separate.

The separation can also be controlled by different Themes, so if you do this and you don't see a new SMS icon on the main screen, then try changing to a different them.

hahahha Thanks for welcoming me!

I had the Motorola Q before the berry and I'm kind of apphrensive about the Curve. I just got it yesterday and I'm still very new to it. Thanks for helping me with the folders. Are there any tips that I should know about?

FYI - The Menu button is the button left of the trackball. Brings up the full menu. Then scroll way down to Options, etc.

I tried doing this and then it would set it up -- but then it would separate the "messages" from the "SMS and MMS messages" into 2 separate folders.

And then I tried to separate within the "SMS and MMS messages" -- but then it would just default and all the messages were in that one specific folder.

Is it possible to separate them into folders for each contact?

And then colour code them... so I know which ones I've sent and which ones I've received?

hahahaha. Sorry. Maybe I'm getting a little too excited about the berry.

So. Is there a way to do that?

Wirelessly posted

Ithink the only way to do that would be by using a different App. It's ok to get excited about a new BB! Hell, most of us are excited about BBs or we wouldn't be up all night reading the boards from our Crackberry. Did I just tell on myself out? Lol

No, those options are not available.

If you want threaded SMS, look at this:
http://www.blackberryforums.com/afte...light=threaded

You're going to have to remember this is a BlackBerry, and everything will not be identical to your Moto (same as the reason for all the flavors of ice cream in the world... to each their own). As a matter of fact, since the BlackBerry was initially developed as a much stronger business device and less consumer oriented, you will find that some of the consumer-popular functions for SMS to which you refer are not present on the BB.
