I have a Cingular-branded 7290 I had been running Cingular's 4.1.0.292 (since upgraded to HKCSL's 4.1.0.351) on. Sunday night, without any changes I was aware of, I noticed my BB browser (don't know about the cingular browser--Any browser you can't control the home page of is no browser I want any part of) now had a status bar on it, listing page title, unread message count, bluetooth and connection status, and signal strength.

There are two icons I'm not clear on. One is a padlock I'm assuming closes when a page is encrypted, and another that looks like three interlocking squares. Does anyone know what these are and how you control the status bar behavior?

The status bar shows now because you hit the shortcut key to show the status bar. On my 7130, it's the "!" key; I'm not sure what it is on a 7290.

I'm not sure what those icons are.

Thanks for the pointer! After playing with it, I found that the shortcut is the "u" key. Now if only I could figure out what the mystery icons are..
