I am having a very strange problem with my blackberry. I have the pearl, obviously. This is my third refurbished blackberry and they are starting to make me angery, if you want to know what happened t the other ones, message me and I will tell you. What is wrong with this one is the the addresses do not appear in address book, but they did for a while. I look with desktop manager and it sees the addresses under restore. The only thing I can think of is format and reinstall, but i don't know how to do that.

On your BlackBerry, open the Address Book > press the Menu key > Filters and UNcheck any filters that are checked... they should all be blank. Save and return to the address book.

You may have ended up with a secondary contact list as well during your device swaps. Go to contacts>menu key>options> and under address books, do you have more than one listed?

yes, that worked, I don't know how that happened though.. It was a very strange problem and I had no idea how to diagnose it.
