okay, so my problem is as follows:
yesterday the screen kept flashing white/strange colors all day, but i was able to talk on it, and it always reseted if i pushed the menu key a.k.a. refresh the whole screen...
first i thought it was because of the weather, i went out and it started snowing, the previous day having been a 10degree celsius day(dunno in F degrees), but i don`t think it was because of the cold, it was in my pocket not hanging out...

this morning someone called me and after i hang up i decided to reset it, everything was working fine so far
then when i switched it back on i had a nasty surprise: a blank white screen

thing is, i can get calls and make calls, that part works fine, speaker plays the ringtone...
i even reinstalled the OS
using BBSAK im able to see the bb's "desktop" via the screenshot function and everything looks as it should except all i`m seeing is a blank white screen

do you think the lcd is nuked? or could it still be a software problem?

i want to mention that no hour glass or charging battery or any other thing appears on it, it`s completely blank

Did it get wet?

Have you tried a battery pull?

After seeing this white screen issue posted several times recently, it by coincidence happened to me by way of our daughter.....Her 9700 slipped of her bed onto the floor. From the description my wife gave me it sounds like it landed solid on a side.

As you say, everything seemed to work fine except the white screen. I removed the SIM and micro SD and did a hard reset, did an OS upgrade (she was still running the original) and still a white screen. I didn't see the point in wiping it. Broken hardware.

Maybe it can be repaired, I don't know. If you can get a free estimate that would be worth the time to find out.

yes i think i might just do that, take it to a service and see what they say
damn lcd, how it can break all of a sudden eludes me... i thought blackberry was all about quality...

BlackBerrys have been very durable in my experience, but (1) there is a limit to what anything will take and (2) sometimes something can take just the right hit at the right place in the right way and it fails.

My daughter's 9700 was beat all to heck. I wasn't surprised that maybe the 10,000th drop did it in.

Post an update when you get the chance.....would like to know what repair shop tells you. Checkout the forum sponsors too....one of them does repairs, I believe, and it pays to compare.

okay so i took it to the service and they told me the display is busted and i need to change it...so yea

Okay so something totally wtf happened.

I was so pissed off, so i decided to order a new display.
In order to do that, I had to know the model of the display.
So I took it apart and had a nasty surprise, the lcd had a black sticker on its back, which was very hard to take off, so i wasn`t able to find out the model...

Then i decided to put it back together, which i did.
And for some unknown reason i decided to turn it on again, probably to get mad again, but then it happened: my display had come back from the dead!!!!!!!

So apparently now it works...
Any idea wtf happened?

Yeah, I have no clue about hardware, except I'd say expect it to happen again.

Hey Guys.... Hope You All Doing Well.. Friends I Got A Problem IN MY Blackberry 8900 Javelin.. As I Made Any Long Call Or Connect It Through WIFI Or Take Few Consecutive Snaps It Get Hang And White Screen Shows Only... No Any Key Or Function Work Even I Remove Battery And Replace Again Same Prob Until I Kept Out Battery For 10 to 15 minutes.... I Have swiped it even Updated its OS but the problem persists ,,,,, Will Some One Please Help Me Out Of This F*cked Up.... I m From Pakistan And No Hardware Technical Support Available Here.... Is This Coz Of Memory Corrupted Or So..... Please Help Me Out Soon As Possible....

White blank screen of death
