I have a BB 8520. OS is 4.6. Up until this morning, my wireless coverage indicator read EDGE. I turned the phone off and on this morning. Now the indicator reads EDGE, but also has the "long stem glass" after the word EDGE. The phone still seems to function OK, but why the "glass"?

That is the "signal" indicator. The bars next to that show how much signal you have.
