Anyone know if the BB-to-computer "mini USB cable" is universally compatible and can be used with a Garmin GPS unit? I have a Curve 8310 and just got a Garmin 255W GPS, wondering if I'll have to buy another mini-USB for the Garmin to connect it to my PC.

Not sure if this is good advice, but I have mini-usb cords from all kinds of places, the one I use at work is the same one I use to connect my Nikon D70, the one I use in my car is a charger I that powers my GPS also. And I use a different mini-usb at home. So I am pretty sure that any mini-usb cord will work.

I am not certain, but I believe that most manufacturers have adopted the standard pin-out on a USB Mini B connector. I connect my BlackBerry to my PC using a Belkin cable that has also been used to connect numerous other devices.

Out of curiosity, doesn't your Curve have GPS? My 8330m does, and once I corrected its settings, it is pretty sweet.

Yup or at least they are for me. Same cord connects my BB, 2 different Garmin GPS and my old Moto Razr. Same auto power adapter also will charge/run all 3.
