Could be possible it is just a standard IMAP or POP3 server. Both universities I was with used UNIX servers and it was mail.XXX.edu for the server. Check with your school's IT team.

Good option as well. If it is IMAP, you can also store stuff on your school's server.

I tried for the longest time to get my .edu mail on my blackberry, and I did the same thing and gave up. I have it all pushed to my gmail account, and I use filters so that I'm not constantly checking both and getting duplicates, I think it works very well. The only thing that I don't like is that I can't send a message from my .edu domain from my device, and that would be much more convenient!

I do think I'll try and get on the IT department again to see if they are able to figure out a way, because I don't understand that hang up.

I remember having tried this a while ago, but didn't get it to work, but like I said that was a while ago. I will take another look at it, and thanks again for the reminder.

I go to U of I. What I have done is sent my school email to my gmail account. My gmail gets sent to my phone. With gmail, you can go into your account settings so that you can send emails with your .edu domain. Gmail makes it very simple. You can also set filters so you dont get your email twice or so you dont get a copy of what you send but my recommendation is to forward your school to your gmail (or get gmail if you dont have it already because you never have to delete anything) and have your gmail forwarded to your phone. Then go into gmail settings and have your .edu domain be what shows up on emails that you send out. you can also add a signature if you want
