Default BBTest?

I'm told that if one wants to check to see if a device is provisioned properly, they can try an EA with [email address] as the email address and any password. So far, however, I've never been able to activate a device this way. The blackberries I'm using to test do work fine on regular enterprise activations. Am I doing this with the wrong address?

If you have a T-Support contract, you can verify if the device is provisioned with the dashboard.

I don't think the [email address] is designed to "activate" the device. It just generates the initial email, AFAIK, so that you can test whether the EA messages from RIM are being blocked...

As in the "your handheld has been registered with the wireless network" message on the device? Because I get the "cannot contact server" error message when doing the EA.
