Default Questions on cutover to new BES AND new Exchange server

Please Login to Remove!

We were running Blackberry Professional Server on the same server as our Exchange server (also happened to be a DC...poor setup by the previous admin don't ask!).

I have since built up a new Exchange server and migrated all users over to that server. Now it is time to move BES, what would be the best method, I only have 18 users, to move over to a new, standalone BES server?

I was thinking initially that a knife edge cutover would work out just fine but not sure how that will work with me switching over to a new Exchange server as well? I expect it would work as I you have to install the Exchange System Mgmt Tools on the BES server and it should find the mailboxes appropriately from there, but wanted to be sure.

Is a knife-edge still the best solution for me in my situation or should I just wipe the users and start with a fresh BES install since I don't really have that many users and little to no customer configurations?

it is your call.

Knife edge should be fine.

ESM needs to be installed before BES.

Thanks for the response, another question I had...

If I do a fresh install would I be able to have two installs going temporarily while I moved the existing users to the new one?

My assumption is no...

Not with the same SRP. It will get locked out by RIM.

Also BES Pro might be limited to one server on a domain, IIRC.

Cutover would be eaiest on you. No activations.
