Default PLEASE help!!

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All,

I have a very annoying problem. On my BES server (3.6) I had a user and everything was working fine. The other day his blackberry suddenly stopped getting mail, so trying to fix the problem I deleted the user from BES, then now when I go to add the same user I get the msg::

"Failed to add user john smith to the blackberry server. Unable to open mailbox for user. Mailbox may have been deleted".

This is driving us nuts so any help will be much appreciated.

Thank you

is his/her exchange account accessible? last time i had this issue, i had locked my own exchange mailbox. if you haven't done it already, reboot the BES (your users won't notice) and then try again. it may simply be a lock on the mailbox and the reboot would clear it (or i suppose you could just stop/start the BES-related services, as well).

Can I just add that this is not a security issue, all permissions are set correctly... I can add any other user from the exchange users list but not this one for some reason...

Talking Here is teh fix to (failed to add user)

Ok guys here is the fix for (Failed to add user (User's Name) to the BlackBerry Server. Unable to open mailbox for user. The user's mailbox may have been deleted.)

If you check the permissions and everything is correct, do the following....

On the Exchange Server find the users mailbox. Backup everything in that persons mailbox to a pst using outlook or another mail client.

Delete the user's mailbox off of the Exchange Server 5.5 or 2000. Wait a minute or two and recreate the mailbox. Go to the Blackberry server and add the user into the Blackberry Server.

Then open the User's mailbox Via Outlook or other, Move emails and other info back into that persons mailbox.

The problem is that the users "SID" on the Exchange Server has become corrupted and needs to be recreated.

I just did 25 accounts after a terrible Exchange Crash this afternoon and it works like a charm.

If you have any questions, Please let me know.

Have you run dbclean on the users' PC? That has always worked for me.

kmiller7376 has the right idea...that would do it. Most likely the mailbox is corrupt. You can also use ExMerge (a free Microsoft Exchange utility) for exporting mailboxes.
