Default "Reconcile Now" has disappeeared

Please Login to Remove!

I have a 7290 (with software v3.8.0.139), and I just noticed that the "Reconcile Now" option in my Messages has gone away. I've pulled the battery and placed it back in there, hoping that reset would re-enable the option, but it is still missing. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Sounds like your BlackBerry doesn't think that E-Mail Reconsile is on, are you using a BES or the BWC? Maybe you just need your Service Books resent and synchronize it, etc.

I'm on a BES. But, as far as I know, only Cingular can issue my Service Books to be reset. Correct? If not, how can I do that?

Your BES admin will have to resend the service books.

Strange...that's who told me that only cingular could do it. I'll ask him again.

Could it possibly be that the software on my Blackberry is messed up? Here are the problems that I'm having with it:
  • The "Reconcile Now" option is gone
  • If I receive an e-mail with a Word attachment, I am never able to download or view the attachment
  • The BlackBerry Browser doesn't work any more
Oddly enough, if memory serves me, this all began when I had to travel to San Diego for work. I wonder if that had anything to do with it.

For what it's worth, I just upgraded software on Blackberry to 4.0.0.219, but that didn't fix anything.

It is not your software, especially since you just upgraded to the 4.0 software. your service books need to be resent. whether from bes or bwc, that will solve the issue (hopefully)

I never have to use my reconcile now feature. My 7290 does it automatically after I tell it to delete on desktop and handheld. Do you have your unit set to where it gives you the choice of deleting only on handheld, or on desktop and handheld?

True for me as well, except for some cases.

either way. The reconcile now button should be there. I would be willing to guess that it is your service books.

When we upgrade our BES version (within the next three months) everything will reconcile automatically and I won't need the "reconcile now" feature. However, our BES is about a year old, and doesn't have the sync wirelessly option.

Well, the upgrade to 4 really messed things up. Now I'm getting the encryption/decrytion error when trying to send an e-mail. Argh! Since I did a backup before I did the upgrade, hopefully I can backtrack without any problems.

Can someone tell me exactly how my BES admin would send a refresh for the service books? If I'm going to go to him and tell him that he's wrong and that he can issue a refresh, I'm going to need some ammo with me. Thanks.

Yeah, it's strayed a bit, hasn't it? I'll take the BES questions to the other fourm.

Update on the original post: our BES admin issued a kill to my Blackberry, and after we reassigned it, "Reconcile Now" appeared again. I also sent myself a test Word attachment, and was able to retreive it. But, now BlackBerry Browser is not appearing at all on the menu.

Go to options then host routing table, then register now, and your blackberry browser will be back in a couple of minutes.

Re: "Admin issued kill" Do you mean Erase Data and disable hh via 4.0 BES console ? I have the same issue of Reconcile Now missing from Nextel 7520; also Wireless Reconcile is limited to "Delete ON:" the others, Enable and Conflicts are also missing. I've deleted and pushed service books, Security Wipe, Enterprise Activation, but no luck. I'm going to completely re-install the handheld software (no restoration of previous data) followed by another Enterprise Activation (I wasn't going to remove the user from BES this time). I welcome your feedback. Thank you.

The "Reconcile Now" option disappears if there is a problem with Synchronisation. If you are using BES, select the user and go to IT Admin and Resend Service Books. Ask the user to turn off and on the handheld to find out if the option reappears.

I had the same issue of missing Reconcile Now on my new 8800. I went to Host Routing Table and re-Registered. That fixed the problem.
