Default Simple Policy Fix?

Please Login to Remove!

Every day when I power up my 8330, I get a message "Your keypad is locked, press * + (green call button) to unlock. I happens to all of our BB users, so it is in the IT policy. I can't figure out where to turn this off, any help would be appreciated.

Some security concerns, and friendly advice, here...
1) If all you are getting is "* + (green call button)", you obviously don't have passwords enabled on your devices. Is this not something you want to enable by default, or does your company not care that anybody who takes the devices can read the e-mail?

2) The Blackberry locks upon bootup by default, not a policy issue. This is to ensure data-privacy as malicious users cannot simply reboot the device to get to the data. Of course, if you have no password set, you have to live with the locked screen.

3) Hopefully the password option hasn't been disabled due to pressure from users. If the excrement hits the fan, you will be the first one in front of the firing squad, not the users/director/CEO etc. I'm sure there is some legal rulings enforcing data protection to help you push it to the business.

Thank you Brendan, however it doesn't have to be unlocked on every power on, only about once per day which leads me to think that it has something to do with the refresh of the IT policy. Also, they didn't do it until a couple of months ago.
