Question Lost my 8310-- Any way to recover it?

Please Login to Remove!

I lost my two week old Red 8310 in a cab in Columbus, OH. I do not know if the cab guy got it or somebody else have it. When I lost it it was in vibrating mode. I called my number and (may be because the guy was trying to hide the phone or some thing like that, the phone went to the talk mode. I heard the guy talking to somebody in another like. So it’s clearly with somebody. But later on my call went straight to my voicemail.

Is there any way I can get the phone using latest locating technology. I carry the ATT service and they have nothing to locate the phone except that if and when the phone is activated again, they can stiop it.

I just suspended the plan to prevent further damages from the guy who got my phone.

Please let me know if anything can be done to locate the phone. I am sure there is other who had this unfortunate expereince and is expecting your inputs.

TIA

No, sadly there is nothing else to do, except ask ATT to LOCK the PIN and IMEI so it can not be used elsewhere. Someone will sell it and another user will be stuck with it trying to figure out why it will not work.

Unfortunately, ATT doesn't offer insurance on that phone or the PDAs

Best not to be upset long and move on as it is gone.

Neither ATT or the police will do nothing. Our police are a joke!

Sorry about your loss

Are you on a BES? If so, you can lock the phone.

One more reason I do a daily backup at home as well as work and also have the BES backup. If I ever lose my BES at work, I'll be going with a hosted BES as soon as I possibly can. It makes my life so easy now and I know I'm secure if I ever lost my BB.

Check into homeowners insurance to see if they would cover it even though it wasn't at home.

Right.. I just transfered the old sim card.

The pathetic thing is; when I called ATT, they are asking if
I need a new phone at the MSRP. MFs; they don't have any technology to trace a BB. The simple iPod has the options to trace it if somebody try to download songs or register it.

Do you really want someone at a corporate office to be able to track you using your phone? I sure dont. And I am glad you told me about the ipod i wont be buying one of those now.
