Last week my girlfriend's USB port broke on her Curve 8300. I called ATT Wireless to see if it covered by Warrenty and turn it out they are not going replace it under warrenty plans. They said USB PORT is not cover under the warrnety policy. I keep argue with them. I told them that it bad device since i brought for my girlfriend only 3 or 4 month ago. Also my girlfriend is very carefully with her Curve 8300 like a baby to her. ATT make me transfer call to repair shop. Cost to repair is about 120 dollar or replace 220 dollar fee. I think it JOKE because it break itself it come out itself. What should I do about it. I keep switch battery from mine to her curve while i charge the battery.
as long as they do not deem it physical damage it is covered under the 1 year manufacturer warranty. Physical and Liquid damage will not be covered. the replacement wouldnt come from ATT, unless its through their Exchange by Mail program. RIM would be your best bet.

Call back and speak to a another rep, or ask for the supervisor.
I have use AT&T exchange by mail many times before and never have a problem, even there is a red dot on back of my phone.

Lucky you haven't been charged for the devices.
I have used BB's for several years and have never broken a USB port I have seen it in store though and it is generally caused by the person jerking the cable out rather than gently pulling it out by the end
Ask for a supervisor---be angry but not discourteous---If you don't get it covered under the warranty, tell them you are the Tech person for your company and you are in charge of purchases of cell phones. Inform the supervisor that your company is an ATT user but that will change unless they honor the warranty.
This is not such a big deal and any supervisor who hasn't had a bad day will take care of you.
