Default NSD is running error message

Please Login to Remove!

Hello all, new here.. I got a 7100G ( cingular service ), and had it comfigured as follows:
Work using Outlook ( with lotus notes MS outlook connector )
Home using Outlook

I had it setup where it would synch at work with calender and contacts, and at home, synch with calendar and contacts. It worked great for a few weeks, now, when I synch, I get a "NSD is running" message, followed by saving a log file.

At this point, when I look at the 7100G, it says " Connected to desktop " ( it stays there until I unplug it ), and then my Outlook client closes out. When I restart the Desktop Manager, and go to Intellisync, the "Synchronize now" button and "Configure PIM" are greyed out.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the client.

Any help would be *greatly* appreciated !

Did you ever get a resolution to this? This is exactly my problem too... Outlook is using MAPI to Lotus database for email. I don't use the Lotus crummy calendar/contacts/notes/tasks, just email. My BBerry (using Desktop Manager 4.0, 4.0 SP1 AND 4.1) goes to synch the calendar with Outlook, and BLAM! NSD is running... printing a log file.

I check the log file out... not very useful. Found where the fatal error occured and i have a HEX stack trace that I can't read well. I go to the files in a directory in that stack, and read PtTrace.log file:

Naturally, I can't read those cpp files, so I can't fix the problem.

Any help is appreciated.

BTW.. I have tried wiping the handheld clean and synching from scratch as RIM recommends when NSD is running errors occur... this does not work.

This has NOTHING to do with a bad entry in my calendar. My calendar in Lotus is COMPLETELY empty... ZERO entries in it. My calendar in Outlook is used, but synchs fine (if I remove MAPI from Outlook, I synch up). This all started when I switched from IMAP to MAPI. Problem is, I need to use MAPI, as IMAP is screwy.

After switching to MAPI in Outlook, I also have access to my Lotus Calendar/Notes/Tasks/Contacts (which I do NOT use, they are all COMPLETELY empty). So to sum this up, I have TWO calendars in Outlook (the Outlook calendar in Personal Folders which I do use, and the Calendar in Domino Lotus folder which I do NOT use).

I think the problem is, the darned handheld goes to synch the Lotus Calendar when I do a synch (even though I tell it to synch with the calendar in Personal Folders... maybe it's trying to synch BOTH?!?).

Nate

I had this same message. Go to blackberry's web site and search within the knowledge database. There is a solution. It took me a while and now I am back in business. Very frustrating. Do not do what I did and delete all of your calendar entries in Lotus. It is not the issue.

Thank you for your reply, but I followed your suggestion and no where in the blackberry.com knowledge base is the solution to this problem. I searched for "nsd is running" and "outlook lotus" and found no articles to assist in this issue. There were articles, but they are all the same as I've seen before and do not solve my problem.

If you found a solution somewhere else, please let us know.

I too have this problem. I have now upgraded to Desktop software 4.1 and still have the problem. Both the calendars are empty and it still won't sync. I am very new to Lotus and so far think it sucks. If anyone has a solution I would really appreciate it. Thanks
