Unhappy bb pearl sync issues

Please Login to Remove!

Hi everyone,

I'm having some issues getting a bb pearl 8110 syncing on a mac. It seems like the bb is just not communicating with pocketmac.

details:
-mac os v10.4.11
-pocketmac 4.0.20b
-Old blackberry (8700) connects fine. (was replaced after being dropped, plastic casing is smashed in on 3 corners, still syncs tho)
-I'm using the same usb cable for the new bb. (tried a diff cable too)
-New bb does mount so i can access data on the bb.
-Tried setting up a bluetooth connection between the mac & bb, I can transfer the address book, but wont connect in pocketmac. (including fiddling with bluetooth port settings)
- I tried uninstalled and removed all traces of pocketmac, and reinstalled, no change.

Any Thoughts, suggestions so that i can get this thing to sync?

Is the blackberry going into mass storage mode? That may cause an issue with pocketmac, but I'm not sure.

Tried both modes. its currently auto selecting mass storage mode.

I should also add that I've done a wipe of the bb. that didn't work either.

Have you tried completely disabling mass storage mode? If one works, the other should. And thats one major difference between the pearl and the 8700 series.

Do you have a PC to test it on?

can u completely disable it? only option I've seen is when you first connect it , it asks for mass storage mode. tried yes and no, didn't sync with either option though.

yes it works fine on my fiancé's pc laptop, its how i got my data from the old blackberry to the new one.

suppose my final option is to install parallels so i can use blackberry desktop, but its such a pain the the behind to install it just to sync. Its a consideration atm just because of the time wasted on this already.

Ok, I'm at a loss then. Hopefully someone else can come on and add some more insight.

I'm sure someone will. There's always someone that knows more about this stuff than me lurking around.
