I've had my phone for about 2 months with no problems. Yesterday morning when I called my voicemail, the screen read "connected" but I heard no sound coming out of the device. I switched it over to speaker phone and instantly heard my messages. Since then the only way I can communicate is via speakerphone. I just updated to the latest .88 thinking it might have been a software glitch. Anyone have any experience or insight? Thanks
This has been an issue on some Pearls. You will probably need to warranty the device. It sounds like the contacts inside probably aren't making good contact. You can *try* taking it apart but you risk voiding your warranty. I'd probably go the warranty route.
I am having the same issue from same date. I am going to t-mobile store to fix it. tried to re boot, removed the battery and put back on nothing worked.
This happened to me on about 4 black ones and now just on my white one. I JUST got a new refurbished white one from UPS as we speak so I have no idea why this is happening to pearls. I treat all of them like gold so there is no reason for this to be happening.
I had mine for a grand total of 17 days before the sound just went out. After calling T-Mobile, I was furious as they told me that they would send me out a "free" replacement (cost me $12 in shipping), which could be refurbished. Again, phone less than 3 weeks old. Was not allowed to take it to T-Mobile store for exchange after 2 weeks. I did some checking and came to the same conclusion as here - this is a common problem. Took the phone apart and tried to fix the connections, but didn't help (incidently, these are surprisingly easy to dissassemble). Just got my replacement yesterday. Surprise again - they sent a new one after I threatened to cancel my service. We'll see how this goes.
