Just loaded a mp3 to my pearl like i always do, then i set it as ringtone, but it stops after a second or so of playing. All the other mp3 file play just fine, this file also plays smooth in media player. Anyone got any idea why this is happening?

i had this problem with only one out of the twenty something mp3s i have on my pearl.. i'm not sure what it is... i just chalked it up as a loss and deleted the .mp3

you could try re-encoding it as an .mp4 thru itunes or something.. might have tried that myself but i dont remember..

Tried using m4a but pearl couldn't play it, gave me an illegalArgException =/

Try changing the bit rate and the sample rates.
