Default Browser Behavior

I'm switching from 8830 and everything is at least ok except for the browser. The 8830 had an option to use the older cursor-less (i.e. trackpad/ball would scroll the page as well as move the cursor). Is there an equivalent here?

Some sites (Google Reader in particular) are now completely unusable.

I don't recall, ever, a setting in the browser. At least not the blackberry browser. (And I'm not familiar with google reader.)

I do know in some feed reader apps there is a setting to either scroll line-by-line or page-by-page. That wouldn't be what you are thinking of, would it? .... As I say, I've seen in it those apps, but never in the blackberry browser.

Hmm. I thought I posted a reply. I prefer the behavior of my original Pearl (8100) where it was closer to a text interface. Scrolling the wheel would move the page like an email and move the cursor to the nearest input. Moving the little cursor around on the 9700 is brutally slow vs. scrolling it one wheel click per line (which I assume was the origins of the interface). The 8830 had an option of going back to this old ball/wheel interface as well as something more analogous to the 9700.
