Exclamation Calls not getting through to phone.

Please Login to Remove!

I'll get a voice mail alert on my 9700 (v5.0.0.321), but the phone never rang and shows no sign that a call was even received. When I check my voice mail, there's a message and someone has indeed tried to call me. When I call them back and ask if it ever rang on their end, they say, no, it went right to vm. One friend told me it happens a lot and so he just texts me now.

This has happened several times in several physical locations, so I don't think signal strength is an issue. In fact, the BB is on my desk (where it usually is during the day and where it was this morning when I "missed" two calls) and the status shows a signal strength of -70db and 85% battery.

I actually heard, in PC speakers, the interference from the BB's radio and picked it up to see if I had an email or something, but nothing. A couple minutes later, a vm notification arrives. Apparently, the radio sound I heard was the phone call that never caused the phone to activate and ring!

Naturally, when I call the phone from my land-line to test it, aside from a seemingly longer than normal delay of dead air after dialing, it inevitably rings.

I've tried a battery pull several times, but this has no impact.

As an aside on a likely unrelated, but worth mentioning note, every now and again when I receive a new email, I will click to open it and it will be the previous email. My initial reaction after the first, say, three times, was that I was fat-fingering it, but it's happened enough that I'm thinking it's not me anymore.

Any suggestions or insight would be appreciated.

Thumbs down Bold 9700 does not get calls

Hello,

Same isse here!!! It is very frustrating.
I called TMO this am to see if this issue was their tower but, nope it seems that it is the phone and this is my third one already.

I was told that possibly I may want to have them exchange the phone through the warranty program for another model (@@#HM*&)... I didn't want another model ... but now I have to reconsider.

I do not know how to resolve this issue.

MJN - did you recently unlock your phone? I did and am wondering if this might be remotely relevant to our issue???
