One thing that seems weird (not sure if it is a bug): If you compose a new message and choose a template, then hit the escape button it does not ask you to Save/Discard/Cancel, nor does it save your draft. It automatically just discards the data.

Anyone else experiencing this? Doesn't really impact the application, just a little annoying.

I just noticed it. I agree that could be a problem. Maybe they will update their product.

If you start typing some text anywhere in the message body it will ask to save as a draft. However, if no text is typed even if an address has been inserted in the TO field and/or a subject has been entered, it seems that if no text has been added/changed in the message body then it will NOT save as a draft. This seems to be by design as you lose nothing since you can just reuse the template again, but can be annoying if you are blasting out an email to many recipients if they are not in a distribution group.
