First of all let me say that this has been a great forum for a BB newbie like me. I got my Pearl this week and have been coming back to this site for all the cool things the can be done to the BB.

My AT&T 8100c came with OS 4.2.0.73 and I have been tempting to upgrade it to .164. But before doing that, I want to have my current OS available for backout in case the new version doesn't work out for whatever reason. The problem is, the AT&T site no longer offers .73 for download (they only have .154). So does anyone have a copy of the .73 (AT&T/Cingular) OS?

the new version works great for me and others, there should be no problem!

Apparently .71 is almost identical...it just has the Cingular themes instead of the AT&T ones. .71 is available from most the European carriers when I last checked.

i downgraded back to .71 myself and it's identical like stealth said. found it under Suncom Wireless.

Thanks kankanman for the pointer - I got the .71 file now. Hopefully .164 will work for me and I don't have to use this to backout.
