Connected to wifi, but not connected?
Please Login to Remove!
This happened with my old Curve as well. It shows next to the Service the wifi network, but it is not connected, and the pink strength meter doesn't come up. I mainly use wifi to send text messages in areas that don't have service, and it aggravates me that it won't connect. It has connected before, and will connect when it feels like it. What can I do to fix this?

pink strength meter?
If wi-fi is connected fully the wi-fi icon will be white.

text messages dont go via wi-fi.
they go via your carrier network.
unless your talking about UMA...which even then im not sure about.

really? I have done it before unless the carrier network has been hiding underneath the wifi the whole time.

EDGE = data through carrier network
UMA = wi-fi connected, allowing calls and texts to go through the wi-fi network.
Not all routers support/allow/work well with UMA.

do a soft reboot by pressing "alt" "right shift" and "del". wait and red UMA bar will show up after the start up. If that did not work. Press "alt" "right shift" and "del" and once the hour glass shows up, press "alt" "right shift" and "del" again. That is called a medium reboot. This should work. It happens to me a lot. If all fails, remove the battery for 30 seconds and re-install. That will definitely work. But you should not have to go there because soft reboot will do the trick. Good luck....

or a battery pull! its quicker than doing the key combo once and then twice more.

key combo is easier regardless. all you have to do is press 3 buttons vise opening the cover and pulling the battery and taking a chance of dropping it.

You could also get a copy of Quick Pull Lite from BB App World which will reboot your device in addition to letting you schedule it daily.
