Try a battery pull?

Has your carrier been having network problems?

What did you do yesterday to change the way the device was working - download/install apps, drop it, etc.?

Might try deleting and adding the email accounts again. Sometime that will fix it.

If your email and facebook are associated to the same account, it may be an issue with the account and not the BlackBerry.

am not sure how?

when i did the security whipe, that erased the email account. and set up like i did the very 1st time

the facebook has one email

and my email is different to the facebook!

like i said, the phone has been fine for months, getting instant emails and notifications, then suddenly it all stops? and u get 10/15 emails and 8 facebooks in one go?
