This is correct. I have not gone down to the "exchange" level, just the area code. As I previously stated, multiple cities can overlay a single area code and multiple area codes can overlay a single city.
As a result, I typically selected the most populated city and display that.
I'd like to get down to the "exchange" level, but I'm not sure how much value it will really provide (but am willing to listen). I think most users (based on feedback) would really like international country codes added.
Your always welcome to Donate on my site and help move Berry-a-Code forward faster;-)

What does this website return when you enter the areacode *and* exchange?
JCSM Lookup ACX
It works for me -- my area is '415' and covers: San Francisco, Novato, San Rafael, Mill Valley, San Anselmo, Larkspur, Corte Madera, Tiburon, Sausalito and Fairfax. If I enter a known SF exchange (297) it returns correctly, and if I enter a known Mill Valley exchange (381) it also returns correctly.
I think the author (bberic) needs to implement exchange code support as well.

Does this work on the Curve?
I downloaded this to my curve, but it doesn't seem to work. Tried testing calling from my home number in VA, but no city or state was listed. Just the number. Thanks.

Further to what I posted above, I did some experimenting:
---
- If I make a call from my home phone to my BB, and I am a contact in the Addressbook, I get, (with and without Berry-a-Code):
John Doe (as entered in my Addressbook)
+1234567890
---
- If I edit my number in my Addressbook so that I don't match numbers, and with CallerID, but without using Berry-a-Code, I get:
J DOE (CallerID Display)
+1234567890
---
- If I edit my number in my Addressbook so that I don't match numbers, and with CallerID, and with Berry-a-Code enabled, I get:
MANITOBA, CAN (Berry-a-Code match)
+1234567890
---
So in my case, because I subscribe to CallerID, I am better off not using the application because a name > area code lookup. However, if I did not subscribe to CallerID, I would be better off using this app, because area code lookup > nothing.
That said, I would also like to say that this is a great application that fills a nice gap. I'm guessing also that making CallerID's display somehow have priority over the area code / exchange code is too much of a pain to code for, so even if this was a pay app that I'd paid for, I wouldn't ask that of the author. Probably too much work for too small an audience.
So again, my hat's off to bberic for writing a nice app. But in my case, I'm probably better off with CallerID.

Can you do me a favor:
1. Clear your event log (ALT-LGLG)
2. Make a call to your BB from a # not in your address book
3. Let it ring a few times and make sure the city/state isn't showing
4. Go back to event log (ALT-LGLG)
5. "Copy Day's Contents"
6. Email to me (eric at pintsizedapps dot com)
Everything works fine on the simulator and with a new phone like the Curve I want to fix the problem.
Also, send me the version of OS you are at.
Thanks.

Do NA carriers like Verizon, ATT and TMOB even offer CallerID? I've never seen this option on ATT.....
Let me know...

I'd assumed that we in Canada were the usual "miles behind" in cellular service, so it didn't occur to me that major US carriers wouldn't have CallerID, Call Display or Name Display. Now I'm all curious too, hehe.

This is a great application. I am going to try for a while and give you some feedback.
Initially from what some have stated above, the exchange support would be ideal long term.

It seems like the common theme is users with an 88XX BB. I am working on a fix and should have an update by Monday. I wish there were easier ways to debug, but I appreciate anyone who can send me logs + BB Model + OS Version + Carrier.
The simulators can only go so far and I only own a few BB's.
Thanks for the support. If anyone wants to try an new build next week let me know and I'll send it to you before we post to the public.

Stay tuned....

This froze my 8800 Pearl!
I installed this application on my Pearl on a lark, thinking it sounds sounds pretty cool.
In the browser, the dialog appeared saying "Application successfully installed", but it could not be dismissed!
I pulled out the battery, reinserted and rebooted. Now the Verifying Security Software dialog is stuck there at 100 percent and I can't bring up any menus or do anything with my BB!
It looks like I've have to reinstall the OS.
Be very careful with this app!!

OK, good news. I was able to sync and use the Application Manager to remove Berry-a-Code. Now things are working again.
I'm on T-Mobile in the US, if that helps.

Glad you're working again. One question, though. Your profile says 7100t, your post says 8800 Pearl. That's three different BB's listed. Is it an 8800 or a 8100 Pearl? The 8800 isn't generally referred to as a Pearl.
