Default Mobile Site + iPad

Is there any way that the mobile site can be made to allow iPads to use wap.blackberryforums.com? I only have GPRS service where I live in Afghanistan, and would love to browse with my iPad instead of my BlackBerry.

The site was specifically modified to use the full version for the iPad as that looks great on it...

It works well when I'm on WiFi, but I only get GPRS in my village, so it doesn't load well when I'm mobile. :(

I will look into adding a force to mobile option, but as it stands there does not seem to be away of doing it without cookies.

iPads accept cookies, so is there another hangup?

Here is the problem. The cookies are tied into the users account, meaning that you select the mobile site on your ipad and the next time you login on your computer it forces the mobile site until you select otherwise. Given that several users are using several different devices (blackberry, desktops, laptops and ipads...) this causes an issue, a rather annoying one.

On my vB site, we use a version of this mobile skin, too, along with a plugin for mobile device detection. We give the users the option of selecting the skin they want - whether the default computer one or the mobile one from a pull down menu selection.

The selection persists independently on each browser, until a member logs out on that browser. Even after logging out on one browser, the chosen setting persists on any other logged-in browser.

I go back and forth between my computer and my blackberry seamlessly. I generally use Opera Mini with the mobile skin, but change it to full skin when I want to have access to everything for more than basic mod stuff on my BB.

I have BB users who prefer the full skin. I have ipad users who go both ways. I even have a couple visually impaired desktop users who use the mobile skin. I just give everyone the option.
