On an 8700c with both Content Compression and Protection enabled, it took more than FOUR HOURS to wipe the device!

Content Protection also slows down the device in normal day to day tasks.

Another side effect is that you can not remotely reset the device password from the BES server. It prompts you to enter the existing passowrd first. If I knew that, then I wouldn't need to remotely reset the password!
