Bad Customer
Please Login to Remove!
You come in wanting undivided attention. I would too.
You come in with an issue to be fixed. I am here to help!
You come in with crazt charges. I will research and explain, if need be credit back to you.
You come in and phone isn't working like it once was. Give me time to test, Troubleshoot and discover.
I am sorry you waited and suffered two months with a problem before coming into the store for help. (happens to be 4 days out of warranty)
"we have had this problem before with this phone"
"this phone"
"no my wifes phone! read the notes!'
" I have sir, they regard your wifes phone not this specific phone"
" WHAT DOES THAT F%^$^%% MATTER"
" well sir you have no reported incidents or complaints with this phone, Let me see if I have a battery i can give you"
(from my personal stash not ATTs)
I proceed to do a couple other steps, plugged in a Charger to see if i get same error he was. Nope Odds are and from experience it is the charger and not the battery
"WHAT THE F%^$ DO YOU KNOW?"
5 years experience, former electronics tech, a degree in electronics, I know a little bit
" you don't want to give me service F$%^ YOU"
"GIVE ME MY DAMN PHONE"
"its right there sir"
" you hand it to me"
I smile and go about my business.
"When is my contract up? 12 months sir, You guys are dead when my contract is up!"
Is that a threat sir?
Looks at me blankly and storms out!
You as the customer expect great customer service I understand that.
I will do my best to provide such.
You expect courtesy and kindness, friendliness and timely help.
The street goes two ways
I didn't cuss at you no need to cuss at me.
Treat others as you want to be treated!
I accept that you may be frustrated, I may be to, after a long day of standing and dealing with rude customers. But I won't take it out on you!
Please DO NOT take it out on me
Being rude and abrassive certainly doesn't compell me or my co-workers to want to go above and beyond to help you.
Okay I could go on but you get the jist and as I write I am getting angry about the experience.
RANT OVER
thanks for hearing me out

So true. People think that because they pay money for a service or goods they can treat those who provide the service or goods any way they want. You handled that perfectly. Big ups!

Agree, you handled it well. I never have understood why people think being a jerk is motivating to the people who are trying to help them. I deal with this stuff every day, only my customers are other employees.

Good job ez...
I learned a long time ago that thick skin and a sense of humor goes a long way when dealing with the public... I get called every name in the book and some I have never heard of before just about daily...
I had one guy a few years back i was taking to jail... From the back seat he kept telling me how he had done this, that, and the other with my mom... Graphic sexual details about him and dear old mom... When we got to the jail, I got him out of back seat, gave him a big hug and said "Dad"...
He looked at me like I was nutz! I told him if he had done all that with my mom that he could quite possibly be my dad...
Sometimes it's just best to have a little fun with them...

ez-bake oven, I know how you feel. I work in IT by accident (technically I'm a systems engineer and deal with servers, but you know how it is) and it is one of the most thankless jobs on the planet next to customer and tech support.
my fave quip: "remember, IT favors go both ways."

I was fine until he looked me in the eyes and said "F#*@You"
Took all my self control not to fly over the counter like a spider monkee jacked up on mountain dew!
Give him a good ole Marine Corps beat down but I restrained myself. Smiled and said have a wonderful evening sir

I totally agree. I work in IT, too, and while I am friendly with everyone, I am much more likely to 'go the extra mile' for someone who is friendly than someone who is a jerk or unappreciative.

Would that be of the 'One day, and that day may never come, I 'll need a favour from you...' type of favour?

Hope that customer is the rare one for you, ez. I see that behavior once in a while in hotels, airports, etc......Just being a bystander, I want to walk over and tell them to get control of themselves.
