Unhappy im+ with bbconnect 4.0?

Please Login to Remove!

I'm running bbconnect on my htc tytn, I have BES setup so obviously can surf via MDS, I wanted to know if there is a way to get im+ to work via blackberry server. It's the one thing restricting me from using bbconnect because it will connect to cingulars data connection thus leaving me with no email. Prefer BES over exchange push so if anyone has any advice id appreciate it.

How did you setup BES so you can surf via MDS? I just loaded BB connect 4.0 on my dash and it actually works so much better with swap apn's than the older versions. I am not sure if it allows different apps to have different connections, but I haven't had a problem with im+ or even surfing the internet and receiving email Just set it up today, so will keep playing with it over the next few days...

for ppc (idk about smartphone) it creates a new blackberry folder in the programs menu, i use mail2web as my bes host, it has an option in that folder for m2w browser.

it runs through pie, if i open pie directly the connections change from bb apn to cingular so bbconnect is no longer connected to bb network.

Very interesting, well like I said. I set mine to use the internet APN and I don't have the problems I had with the older version where I had to suspend the blackberry service.

As a side question, have you been able to do any pin to pin messaging or emails? I thought 4.0 was going to support that as well...
