Default Constant event log errors from one client

Please Login to Remove!

I've got one client on my BES (4.01 HF1) that I constantly get error's from his account. There are usually 6 errors right in a row sometimes they appear in different orders. One thing I noticed, the Folder ID in one of the message constantly gets more negative.

{EMAIL ADDRESS} MAPIMailbox::SetFolderState - CreateMessage (0x80040102) failed.

{EMAIL ADDRESS} LoadFolderList Could not save Folder State. FolderID=-356.

{EMAIL ADDRESS} MAPIMailbox::SetFolderState - CreateMessage (0x80040102) failed.

{EMAIL ADDRESS} MAPIMailbox::SetFolderState - CreateMessage (0x80040102) failed.

{EMAIL ADDRESS} UpdateFolderState Could not save Folder State. FolderID=-357.

{EMAIL ADDRESS} Could not Update Folder State. TagId=19657

They'll happen sometimes every few minutes then others half an hour to a couple hours at a time. I don't know how critial the error is but it's annoying, it's filling up my logs, and it's only for one cleint.

Any ideas?

Whenever I'd had similiar problems, I just delete the account and recreate it, then reset up the user.

Default Check for PSTs

I've had similar issues with certain users. Check with the user to see if they are moving all (or some) of their mail to personal folders. One user in particular that was moving all of his mail to PSTs ended up crashing our system every few hours. RIM said the reason for this was the considerably high error count. If the BES does not find an original message, it will generate an error. If it tries to synch with a message and the message does not exist on the mail server, you will get errors.

It's a case by case basis, but most often, I ask users to move files to their PSTs after a week or two instead of either right away or daily.

thats odd. i move all of my mail to a PST (sent items are archived for 1 week on the server; pending followups are left in my Inbox on the server) and do not have those issues at all.

This client moves most of his e-mail to folders but they are ones that can be seen by the blackberry. We've gotten away from using personal folders and started using a product called KVS. I haven't been able to access the logs for a couple days due to a few changes in permissions. Hopefully I'll be able to look through them again soon enough.

I had this same problem with just 1 user.

I noticed that they had over 570 folders in their inbox. It seemed as if everytime I allowed folder redirection for this user, i was not getting all the emails.

I turned off Folder Redirection on all subfolders.

it worked for me.
