Default Calendar entries older than 90 days not syncing with BB7250

Please Login to Remove!

I have a user who would like to keep his calendar entries from the last 6 years on his device, but it will not sync entries older than 90 days.

We have BES 4.0.7.9 for Exchange 2003, and the device he is using is a BB7250 with 32MB of memory. I had him wipe the unit and perform a clean Enterprise Activation, which sets the calendar to purge entries older than 60 days by default. After changing this option to "Forever", we re-activated his device with no entries older than 90 days synchronizing.

At first, I was worried about the memory in the device being depleated by the massive amount of entries (which is a tad over 4000), but if you wipe the device and only use the Desktop Manager to sync (no BES activation) all entries appear just fine.

Any thoughts?

Did you try to use DM after EA to add the entries?

Yes, we did try to use DM to sync only the calendar from his Outlook profile after EA. Unfortunately, the results were the same -- no entries older than 90 days. One other attempt I did not mention was removing and re-adding his user to BES.

there is a setting on the device in the calendar options. Go into the calendar, go into the menu, and go to options. near the bottom you should see a "keep appointments" option. you can set it to 15, 30, 60, 90 days, or forever. Try that.

The BES only syncs the last 90 days for Calendar. You can use DTM to sync the whole Calendar. There should be an option to sync all appointments. I haven't used DTM in a while but it is possible to get all entries. Keep in mind that the memory on the BB could end up being a factor.

6 years worth of appointments is a lot of data. But, whatever the user wants.
