Default Verizon's Plans

Please Login to Remove!

Please, can somebody clarify this for me. I'm on Verizon, and I've been following the release of the Tour, and apparently a Tour2 (with WiFi). I checked the BB "comparison" link, and see that the Tour and Bold are very similar, but that the Bold is GSM and has the new "trackpad". Questions, please:
1) Is the Tour essentially the CDMA version of the Bold, or does Verizon have any plans to release a Bold model?

2) How has the BB community generally responded to both models, is one generally more "preferred" than the other, and why?

Thanks in advance!

Wirelessly posted (Lets Go Canes!)

The Tour is a smaller in size to the Bold. I won't speak for Tour 2 but Tour 1 is a good device. I did have connectivity issues with earlier OS but in general the phone does what you would expect. The camera is superior to my 8330.

So do you think because Verizon carries the Tour/Tour2, Verizon will not offer the Bold or Bold2 also? Thanks in advance.

no they won't, thats an at&t stamped handheld. But, if you have an ass of cash laying around, feel free to contact RIM and let them know that you want the phone with the leather on it lol...they can make it with, or without a sim card for you..

The Bold and Bold 2 are GSM devices, as Verizon is a CDMA carrier, they won't carry it.
Will there be a CDMA bold or Bold 2? unlikely.

Default Thanks

Midnight, thanks very much for your response. Is Verizon's Tour2 expected to have the new trackpad in addition to the Wifi?

Default Plans have changed

Midnight, thank you again. My plan at Verizon is up, and I had anticipated switching from the 8830 to the Storm2. Tried the Storm2 the other day, and simply cannot adjust to the keyboard...too many mistakes. Fortunately, I missed the "beta" release of the first Tour, and pleased to hear that the release of Tour2 is not too far out!

I was just at a T-Mobile in NYC and they said they will have the Onyx 11/18. A customer said that's about the same time he heard the Tour 2 will come to Verizon. No idea if this is accurate or not.

Again, I have no idea if this is accurate or not, but I can upgrade on Verizon at the end of the month and I think the Tour 2 might be the phone for me so the timing would be perfect.

I heard the Tour2 is due out at the beginning of Next year.. I would expect the Tour2 sometime in Spring '10.. I hope I am wrong, because I might bring back the Storm2 and just wait for the Tour2

I have a bad feeling that the Curve 2 will be coming to Verizon 11/18 not the Tour 2. Just a feeling, no concrete info here.
