Sweet shots, BG.

Would love to see some shots of GPS in action, whenever time permits. Thanks.

Custom folders?! Oh, baby! I hope we can sort our email into custom folders. Maybe even make separate folders for SMS and email messages.

Another feature that intrigues me is "wireless upgrade." Updating the OS without using a computer would be awesome.

That's not what the folders are for. It's for applications, etc. Not things contained within the applications.

You mean it's just an organizing ploy to clear up real estate on the home screen? Like for putting all apps of one kind in a single folder? That would be pretty useless if you ask me.

Basically.

Many have cried for this functionality for some time, particularly on the Cingular theme...not the worst play, if you ask me.

Personally, I love the idea...and I know that it's WAAAAAAYYYY too early to start talking about if this functionality will be availible to 8100 users anytime soon...so I will patiently (and quietly) continue to lurk here for news...

RIM have been wanting to achieve this for some time.

I HAVE to agree! Just how hard would it be to give the BIS user the ability to create a few folders to organise his emails. Even a basic Windows device gives this option.

How about it RIM, it would not be hard and would cause no security problems!

Seems like it would require updates on the handheld and BIS since 2.0 did away with folders.

Also a custom OS so they can keep the security of emails still intact. Seems with the 8300 series they are expanding into the mainstream market though, so who knows

Just a slight adjustment in the next OS upgrade on the new devices would be fine with me. I just can see what problmes this would cause. They give me this extra memory and if I do not listen to music, it is useless!

Personalised folders will be coming out along with the move towards BES 5.0, some of the 5.0 features that are already ready will be pre-release as service packs for 4.1. As for the 8300, got to play with one today and I've got to say, I'm holding out for its release for my next BB.

Personalized folders? What are those? BES already provides folder support. Do you mean BIS 3?
