Exclamation BlackBerry ID reset

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

I need to reset the ID associated with my handset after I inadvertently overtyped it when attaching a PlayBook. Don't know how it did it but now I have the wrong ID on my phone and can't reset it without a wipe, if I have read the forums/help correctly. I even tried deleting the ID from the email, which it did but it is still stuck on the phone and now I can't use the ID at all.

If I make a backup of my phone, factory reset then restore can I input a new ID on the phone or will the backup put the wrong one on again?

Need to get around this without losing my setup one way or another.

Torch 9810 on OS7

Default Re: BlackBerry ID reset

Update: FYI I have had to backup my phone, then wipe it to factory settings. I could then put in a new Blackberry ID. Then I restored my phone and I was up and running again. Even kept my installed App world apps as I did the wipe via BESX. Interestingly the Blackberry ID now holds the Internet E-mail setups so I had those back before I even restored and resent the BES activation, which is clever.

Had to then security wipe the playbook and relink, annoying as OS2.0 is nearly 500MB and I had to download it again. Nevermind, at least I got around it without loss of data.
