I am in the process of up-dating the software on my Bold 9000 using Blackberry Desktop Software and it seems to have locked up. There has been no movement of the progress bar for about 45 minutes. I am reluctant to disconnect as there is a message saying that any interruption or disconnect could make the device unusable.
After about two hours, give and click cancel or disconnect.
If the device does not reboot on it's own, remove the battery for a minute and replace to reboot. If still no reboot, please repost here for assistance.
I did this and am now back to normal. The reason I was trying to up-date the software was to try to eliminate the "Uncaught exception: Java.." and "app.error 205" messages which I get periodically. They are a big nuisance as they lock up the device for a period of time. I have looked on this forum and the best way to overcome these messages seems to be a software up-grade.
I am running v4.6.0.126 (platform 4.0.0.135) on a Bold 9000 which I sough of inherited.
If you can point me to a solution I would be very grateful.
