Yes take the battery out for at least 30 seconds. Also have you made sure that mds is checked on your bbweather (you have to scroll down a bit to find it).

I do not own a 7100g so I cannot tell you this for 100% sure but I do suspect that all the BBs work the same way, I have a 7250 and I remove the battery whenever I need to and have never had an issue of loosing any data, besides if you are worried, backup the data first then remove it, if you need to restore it you can.

No you won't lose your data. Back it up first if you want to feel better about it.

just as i expected...still nothing. the bbweather isn't working right now, with the error message "can't open tunnel."

so let me repeat the question again...do i need any of these feature or all of them to get my bbweather to work?:

WIX EXTENDED INTERNET $0.00
WIX DATA CONNECT $0.00
WRLSS INTRNT XPRS PAY PER USE $0.00

like i said yesterday it was working fine after i put in the apn settings. Then last nite i called cingular rep to remove the WRLSS INTRNT XPRS PAY PER USE $0.00 feature since i have unlimited data. now my bbweather isnt working. and i dont have WIX EXTENDED INTERNET $0.00
WIX DATA CONNECT $0.00 on my plan. but im able to surf the web and receive email to my bb.

so my question is pretty simple, not very complicated. do i need all or some or 1 those feature that i describe above to get my bbweather to work?

ok updates: yesterday i got the bbweather program to work by putting the apn settings for cingular. i was getting the error "can't open tunnel." then last nite i call to cingular to remove the xgprs pay per use feature. then this morning the bbweather program stop working. did a hard reboot no luck.

then some of you suggested for me to call cingular and tell them to activate the wix feature. the data tech told me, he doesn't need to. he then told me he activated a feature call "blackberry unlimited data." he said this will activate 2 apns, blackberry.net and wap. he basically told me i didnt need to put anything on the apn setting for yesterday. then my bbweather program started to work.

then i called cingular todday to tell them that i want "international blackberry unlimited data plan" because i will be traveling to europe soon. they took away the domestic "blackberry unlimited data" and gave me the international one. then all of a sudden my bbweather program DOESN'T WORK AGAIN!!!

i called data support again (different tech). he basically doesn't know what he is doing and he conferencede me in with the international dept. but still no luck. basically he gave me some bs that bbweather program is a third party program and they don't support it. afterward, i hung up and try to do another hard reset, and reinstall bbweather program. still no luck.

i REALLY want to get this to work in europe.

GOOD NEWS I CALL I GOT BBWEATHER TO WORK AGAIN!!

i just call cingular data support cause my browser wasnt working after they activated my international data plan. this tech is very knowlegdable. so i said to myself, what the heck..i ask him if he is familar with the bbweather program. he said yes. then i told him about my bbweather program situation. then he was able to fix it!!!!

he basically open a gateway call wap.cingular apn. he said everytime u activate or deactivate a feature like the international blackberry data plan that you will need to also do it for wap.cingular apn. and he told me he is not suppose to do that for me because i have a blackberry and not a pda.

then he said when im back from my europe trip, and they activate my demostic unlimited data plan. they may need to open up the wap.cingular apn gateway again. he said the next tech may do it or may not. but i dont care...it is working on my blackberry now!!!

WOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
